Method
Preparing The Containers: Ensure your containers are spotless and dry. Any dust or moisture residue can impact the final product. Place a wick stickum at the end of the wick and secure it firmly in the centre of the container's base. Use wick holders to keep the wick straight and in place.
Melting The Wax: You will need to weigh 130g of molten wax for each scent. We suggest using a double boiler to melt the wax. Heat the wax to about 80°C. Once melted, pour it into the pouring jug.
Blend In Fragrance: Each oil is pre-measured ready for use. Once you have done this, decant the entire 10ml bottle of oil into your molten wax. Stir well for 60 - 90 seconds.
Allow the wax to cool to approximately 65°C, and then pour the mixture into the prepared containers, leaving about 1cm from the top. Let the candles cool for at least five hours.
Finalising The Candle: Once the candle is fully set, remove the wick holder and trim the wick to about 5mm. Allow the candle to set overnight before moving. Congratulations! You've crafted your first homemade candles!
Preparing your Gifts: SoyaLuna waxes feature a fast cure time of 48 hours. Once cured, trim the wicks to 5mm, and secure a warning label to the base of each candle. Pop your candles into their gift box, and finish with a ribbon for a luxurious handmade gift. Always follow safety advice when burning candles.
Give it time
Let the candles cool for at least five hours, leave them overnight before you move them, and give the SoyaLuna wax 48 hours to cure before they go in the box. Make them this weekend and they are ready to wrap next week.

Make a third set
Two gift sets use 390g of the 800g of wax, which leaves 410g: enough for a third set of three. The kit also comes with 10 wicks and 10 stickums, so you will have four of each to spare.
- Kimberley Trio Candle Box (9cl) - White to box the third set.
- Candle jars for three more 9cl Kimberley containers.
- Christmas fragrance oils for three new scents, one 10ml bottle per 130g of wax.
- Candle Wicks - HTP 62 if you plan to keep going.
Questions makers ask
Is this suitable for a first-timer?
Yes. The kit is made for both novice and experienced crafters, every oil is pre-measured, and the video shows each step.
How long until I can give them?
SoyaLuna wax cures in 48 hours. Once cured, trim the wicks to 5mm, add the warning labels and box them.
Can I choose different scents?
Yes. Use one 10ml bottle of candle fragrance oil for each 130g of wax.
What wick do I need for other jars?
The HTP-62 wicks in the kit suit these 9cl jars. For other containers, see our candle wick guide.
Can I sell what I make?
These kits are designed for personal enjoyment and gifting. If you sell, you will need to meet the safety and labelling requirements. Our CLP information page is the place to start.
